My previous site was on WordPress, hosted on a Bitnami-packaged instance on AWS Lightsail. Bitnami’s WordPress stopped getting updates in May 2026, and new instances can’t even be created from it after November 2026. Rather than stay on a frozen stack, I’m rebuilding on Astro and deploying it through Cloudflare Workers, and integrating Cloudflare’s new CMS, Emdash.
Why this stack? I could have selected Next + Vercel, but I wanted to try this framework. The layout is a template I purchased and Claude did the heavy lifting altering the template design and integrating Emdash.
I won’t get into the gory details of the migration; I’ll present a briefing in a subsequent post. For now, I’m cleaning up all the bits that fell out of the migration and familiarizing myself with the Emdash interface.
